These are the questions Langley owners ask us most, answered as directly as we can. If yours isn't here, call, text or email; a real person will answer it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does marketing cost for a Langley trade?
Our plans start at $1,999 a month, or $1,499 a month if billed annually, plus 5% GST. Elite is $3,999 and Enterprise $7,999 a month, with annual rates of $2,999 and $5,999. Ad spend, where you use it, is paid to the platforms on top.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. There's no long-term contract: give 30 days' notice and you're out. Annual billing is optional and lowers the monthly rate in return for a year's commitment.
How long before I see results?
Paid search can bring calls within weeks of launch. Local search and website improvements usually show early gains in one to three months and steadier results in three to six, depending on your trade and how crowded your part of Langley is.
We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Ask what went wrong first. Most bad experiences come from vague goals, reports full of clicks instead of jobs, and long contracts. We set a measurable goal in writing, report against it monthly, and work month to month, so you can leave if it isn't working.
Who owns my website, Google listing and ad accounts?
You do. They're set up in your name or transferred to you. We work inside them with access you grant, and if you leave, everything stays with you.
Are you a contractor?
No. We don't install, repair, build or service anything. We're a marketing and business consulting service. The trade work, and the relationship with your customers, stays entirely with you.
Do you sell leads to other businesses?
Never. The calls, texts and emails our work produces go only to you. We are not a lead marketplace.
What will I get in a monthly report?
A short, plain-language summary: calls and messages from new customers, cost per booked job for paid campaigns, changes in map visibility across your communities, reviews, and what we're doing next month and why.
Can you promise I'll be first on Google?
No one honestly can. Google controls its results and changes them constantly. We commit to the work, the reporting and the honesty, not to a ranking position.
Do you only work with trades?
Mostly trades, but also shops, cafés, salons, studios and clinics in Langley. Our main-street and website services suit storefront businesses well.
Why are your case studies HVAC companies?
Because the group's published portfolio grew out of heating and cooling. We present them as results from our HVAC work and explain which lessons carry over to other trades and storefronts.
Do you work with businesses outside Langley?
This site focuses on Langley. If you're based in Langley and also serve Surrey, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows, we include those areas where your routes make sense.
How do I get started?
Call, text or email with your trade, where in Langley you work, your typical job value and what you'd like to change. Eligible trades businesses get the first 30-minute consultation free.
Questions about money
The plan fee is published and the same for every client. Our plans follow Trades.Agency pricing: Growth, Elite and Enterprise, each with a lower rate if you pay annually, all in Canadian dollars plus 5% GST. The pricing page has the full table and two worked examples showing how plan fees and ad spend compare with the value of a typical job.
The number to focus on isn't the monthly fee. It's the cost of each booked job compared with what that job is worth. A $14,000 re-roof can absorb a marketing cost that would sink a $150 service call, and we plan accordingly.
Questions about commitment and trust
Month-to-month terms are the main protection we offer. You can cancel with 30 days' notice, so we have to keep earning the work. We also put the plan and its measure of success in writing before we start, which makes it easy to judge whether we've delivered.
If you've been burned before, tell us what happened. The common stories are long contracts, reports nobody understood, websites the owner didn't control, and ad accounts that disappeared when the agency left. Each of those is avoidable, and we explain how on the about page.
Questions about time
Different services work on different clocks. Paid search is the fastest: once tracking and campaigns are set up, calls can start within days. Fixing a weak Google Business Profile often shows results within weeks. Building lasting visibility in map results across several Langley communities is a three-to-six-month project, and longer in crowded areas.
We'll tell you up front which clock each part of your plan runs on, so nobody is surprised in month two.
Questions about how the work gets done
You deal with a senior strategist who knows your business. Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads the practice. We work in your accounts, with your access, and explain what we change.
We'll ask for a few things from you: job photos, quick answers to questions about your services, and a commitment to answer calls promptly. Marketing works best when the business behind it responds fast. If missed calls are a problem, we'll talk about fixes before spending money on more traffic.
Questions specific to Langley
Owners here ask a few things we rarely hear elsewhere. The most common is whether to say City or Township. Use whichever matches your real address, keep it identical everywhere you're listed, and then describe the communities you serve in plain words, because customers mostly just type "Langley".
The second is how far to reach. The Township is large, and a crew based in Walnut Grove may lose money on routine calls in Aldergrove once drive time is counted. We usually suggest owning the communities closest to your yard first, then testing outer areas with paid search, where you can set lower bids and see the real cost per job before committing.
The third is timing. Langley's wet months push gutter, drainage, roofing and leak calls up, while spring and summer favour landscaping, fencing, decks and painting. Shops in Fort Langley and Willowbrook feel their own seasonal swings. We plan budgets and content around those patterns rather than spending evenly all year. The areas page goes community by community.
Questions this page can't answer
Some answers depend on your situation: whether to target Aldergrove from a Walnut Grove base, how much to spend on ads in your trade, whether your website needs a rebuild. Those are what the free first consultation is for. Read the services overview to see the options, browse the guides for the thinking behind them, or head to the contact page to see what to send us.
